NIEUWS :
- Drie vennoten van HVDB worden opnieuw in de uitgave van 2010 van Who's Who Legal Commercial Arbitration vermeld, die in december 2009 is verschenen:
"The Belgian firm of Hanotiau & van den Berg is incredibly well regarded, with both named partners appearing at the top of our global research. Bernard Hanotiau is "impossible to commend too highly", and Albert Jan van den Berg is an "amazing arbitrator". Pascal Hollander is once again included alongside them as a first-class practicioner."
Bernard Hanotiau en Albert Jan van den Berg worden respectief als tweede en vierde in het wereld meest beschouwde personen in arbitrage genomineerd.
- Global Arbitration Review, the International Journal of Public and Private Arbitration, heeft in december 20
"This international arbitration and litigation boutique is the only firm from the Benelux area that we selected for the GAR 100. The practice was founded in 2001 with the unabashed intention “to become the leader in the field of international arbitration”. Today it consists of four partners and eight associates who will undertake a variety of international dispute work, defined only by complexity. As for its ambition, this has arguably been achieved: a Belgian legal publication has made the practice “international arbitration and litigation firm of the year”, two years in a row.
The secret ingredient is strategic insight on cases from the world’s most in-demand arbitrators: Bernard Hanotiau and Albert Jan van den Berg. Their credentials are too lengthy to repeat in full. Suffice to say, in the most recent cycle of Who’s Who research, Hanotiau emerged as the third most chosen individual, behind V Veeder QC and Jan Paulsson. He is also a serving vice president of the LCIA.
Albert Jan van den Berg began in the field as assistant to the famous Pieter Saunders. Since then, he has become among other things general editor of the influential Yearbook: Commercial Arbitration; a vice president of the LCIA, and Who’s Who ‘Arbitration lawyer of the year” (awarded in 2006). Most of their work now is as arbitrators. The founders, however, continue to provide strategic level advice to clients of the firm and support to the younger partners, who are as a result emerging in their own right. Pascal Hollander for example, is now also included in the Who’s Who." (Global Arbitration Review, Vol.2, Issue 5 - December 2007) |
