Brayden Winkler is an Australian, admitted legal practitioner who joined Hanotiau & van den Berg in 2021. He acts as tribunal secretary in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations chaired by Dr. Prof. Albert Jan van den Berg or Ms. Niuscha Bassiri, both ad hoc and under a variety of institutional arbitration rules, covering a range of industry sectors and agreements. Brayden Winkler is also involved in court litigation related to the set-aside and enforcement of arbitral awards before EU Member State courts, assisting the counsel team representing sovereign States.

Prior to joining Hanotiau & van den Berg, Brayden Winkler completed training with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, and with several public and private law firms within Australia. Before making the pivot into legal practice, he spent seven years in the Asia Pacific region (Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong) with a Fortune 100 software company in regional and global roles spanning legal contracts, consulting sales, and wider business & strategic operations.

Brayden Winkler is admitted to practice as a lawyer before the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and he is registered with the Brussels Bar (List B). He holds a Master of Laws (Public International Law) from Leiden University, The Netherlands, together with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Macquarie University, Australia. He is a native speaker of English, and he holds an intermediate-level Diploma in French Language from the Cours de Civilisation Française de La Sorbonne (CCFS) in Paris, France.
